Only takes 2 Alt + $Number strokes, when "show id only on demand" option is on #31

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Activate "Show id only on demand" option
2. Open a web page, e.g. ("mouseless browsing" search on google.com)
3. Activate the ids with '.'
4. Start open links with Alt + $Number (on new tabs)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: To open as many links as i request, on new tabs.
What happens is,
Open only 2 links and then stop working.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
MLB 0.5.1
Windows XP (SP3)
and also on
Ubuntu 8.04 (the same problem)

Please provide any additional information below.
Dont know if make any difference, but my computer is a notebook with no num
pad, instead i use the "fn" key and the second function numbers.

I couldn't reproduce the error, neither under XP nor under Ubuntu.
Could you please install the latest build from my website
(http://www.rudolf-noe.de/index.php?/content/view/14/26/ --> link at the bottom
of
the page) and test if the error still exists (I assume it will).
If yes please I ask you to provide your MLB configuration. This you can do as
follows.
Go to this page: http://code.google.com/p/mouselessbrowsing/issues/list
Open a new issue --> with the new version the configuration is automatically
added to
the commend. Don't save the issue, but just copy the configuration into a new
comment
of this issue.
Thanks!

HI, I have update MLB and i have different results on Ubuntu and Windows XP.
Ubuntu now works solidly, open as many tabs as i request.
Windows XP does not works regulary. The esiest way to reproduce the problem, i
think,
is to try to open several tabs, at some point stop working, sometimes open 3,
sometimes 5, sometimes 7.
Rememeber this is with the "show id only on demand" option.

What happens if you press DECIMAL (activate the ids) when they stop working?
I'm not sure if I have the same problem or not, because it always stops working
after
one link.

If i press decimal it start working again. But still falis after a certain
number of
links, again and again.
Looking the MLB status bar section, sometimes when the link dont work, isnt
just that
is not recording my keystrokes, but that is taking an extra number which i
havent
press. For example i press the alt+55, and it shows me the 557 number.

Seems it's different problem…
Yet, both problems occur with "ondemand ids visibility" and "background new
tabs",
and temporarily fixed by toggling ids visibility. That means, there's some
status
change when new tab is being open…

Anyway, instead of toggling ids visibility now I toggle MLB on/off, so it works
almost the same (really, what's the practical difference?… Somehow I don't
notice
it), yet this bug doesn't seem to occur.

I figured out the problem: In Windows you can enter special characters by
entering
Alt + <number from numpad>. If you use numeric ids the problem occurs only if
you
enter two digit ids which have a character code of an digit (48<=keycode<=57).
This issue will be fixed in 0.5.2.1
