A typical id number should be seen, but I get just a white square with
nothing inside. Image attached.

A badly designed page could bring up this issue. Id numbers taking the
color of the link seems a logic move, but there should be an override
option to specify color and background of an id number, regardless of the
link's color. There is a certain degree of adjustment in the Styles tab,
but the code there is too user-unfriendly. Probably a detailed help file
explaining the available options could solve this.
