Describe the bug Zimmer Twins Movie Maker. The viewport for the movie player is off, overlay issues with clip thumbnails, unable to change any of the settings or characters. image image image image On the last image I can't click the green text to change the character or setting.

Expected behavior This is how the Movie Maker is supposed to run. image image image image

Is the problem with the Ruffle desktop app, extension, or self-hosted version? Self-hosted on zimmertwins.cf.

What platform are you using? Chrome 92 on Windows 10 version 2009

Hi.

I don't know if you're still working on this project or not. I don't even know if you check this page anymore. But on the slim chance you manage to find this, I just want to say that I have been thinking about the potential of a Zimmer Twins revival long before anyone else even knew how it would be done. I'm sorry it took so long for a response, it only recently hit me how much Zimmer Twins has impacted my life, and so I also want to preserve its history. I think I am able to fix this, just not in the approach you would expect.

But first, to follow up on this issue. The movie maker seems to have improved somewhat since this post was made. I don't know if you were aware of this or not. Regardless, the "overlay" issue isn't present anymore. Now this footage was taken from the "jumeauxzimmer.ca" website, since the original zimmertwins.cf seems to be unreachable. But as you can see, the "overlay" issue has been resolved. I don't know if it was because of the increased development of Ruffle or if it was because you figured it out ahead of time. Whatever the case, it seems to be working.

However, it seems that this is the only major significant improvement. We're still unable to change the characters, settings, and items. Nonetheless, I thought it was worth mentioning since you may not have realized it.

This brings me to my idea on how to fix this. I've noticed a lot of people are relying on Ruffle to allow Zimmer Twins to run, but even before Ruffle was decided, I always thought to myself, why not just convert it to HTML code? Maybe there's some sort of premise that I'm missing, but from what I understand, it's easier and takes up a lot less time. So, here's what I'm trying to say. I want to take matters into my own hands. I've assumed all the creators just kind of left, and the people who tried to bring the site back up did not stick with that concept, and they just kind of left it and forgot about it. But I'm not willing to give up so easily. Zimmer Twins means way too much to me for me to give up on it like this. I'm pretty sure I can bring it back no problem at all, if you'll just let me have this chance. I've been looking for the source files for the website, but they seem to be lost to time. Really, the only person I know who currently has them is you. So if you can just let me have the files, I'll see what I can do with them. And I promise, I won't let the ZT community down.

Thank you.

I was the one responsible for archiving the site in almost all of its entirety. I uploaded the source files and most of the movie data onto archive.org so they wouldn't only be stored on my local machine. You can find it here, but just be warned that the archives expand to multiple gigabytes of data: https://archive.org/details/zimmer-twins-website-archive-2020-08-01

As much as I have wanted to restore the original contents, the lack of full Ruffle support for the movie maker has certainly discouraged me. It's great to see that someone else has the same idea, though.

Also, do I recognize your name from the site? I was known as "-GammaRay-" over there... who knew?

Hi, thank you for providing me with the source files. You are not mistaken, I am the same "Paulw389" that was on the Zimmer Twins website. Small world, isn't it?

Anyway, don't worry. I'll think of something. I'm thinking of porting the files to HTML5. Beyond that, I will keep it a secret for now. I'll let you know when the new website is up. It may take a while, but I know the wait will be worth it.

Thanks again. See you soon.
