Original author: d.lundin...@gmail.com (April 11, 2009 11:55:11)

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Start Shakespeer
  2. Search for anything, (for example Eminem which always produces results)
  3. Done, nothing appears

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? Search results should show but none appear, to get Shakespeer to show the search results I have to click "Require TTH" and then the search results are shown.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? 0.9.11 - OSX 10.5.6

Please provide any additional information below.

From markus.m...@gmail.com on April 12, 2009 16:16:32 Is this sphubd.log or shakespeer-aqua.log? Also, does ShakesPeer yield any messages in the general system.log?

rufuscoder commented 11 years ago

From d.lundin...@gmail.com on April 12, 2009 16:22:17 It is the Shakespeer-aqua.log

in system.log I get this over and over again (every 2 seconds): 2009-04-12 18.01.21 ShakesPeer[4331] * -[NSConcreteMutableAttributedString _fastCStringContents:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x16d716e0 2009-04-12 18.01.21 ShakesPeer[4331] * NSTimer ignoring exception '*\ - [NSConcreteMutableAttributedString _fastCStringContents:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x16d716e0' that raised during firing of timer with target 0x17617970 and selector 'updateSearchResults:'

From d.lundin...@gmail.com on April 12, 2009 16:32:59 Checked, I have no Haxies installed :) Never heard of it before.

rufuscoder commented 11 years ago

From markus.m...@gmail.com on April 14, 2009 09:15:04 It is a strange bug, the only time I've heard of it is in the issue I linked earlier. My only guess is that some kind of system extension is causing this. Since you are not familiar with haxies; have you any other extensions (kernel extensions a.k.a. "kexts") or similar installed?

Since it suddenly stopped working, did you install any particular software around the same time?
