@markmacgillivray bibsoup.net seems to be down ...

Akron commented 10 years ago

And it still is. Is there another example instance running anywhere?

markmacgillivray commented 10 years ago

No other one at the moment. I have a related project starting for which I could do something in the way of a demo. Will sort something out this week.

Great!

The bibsoup.net domain has been taken over now. I had a few links from my own blog to resources I had published there, too bad it's gone away.

tfmorris commented 9 years ago

That's the danger of publishing on a personal domain rather than one backed by an organization, I suppose.

I doubt that particular domain will ever be available again, so this issue can probably be closed.

For the record, see the related discussion at http://discuss.okfn.org/t/bibsoup-net-is-gone/214/4 with @rgrp suggesting to ping @markmacgillivray here one more time, to see what could be done.

markmacgillivray commented 9 years ago

Hello. Regarding the domain, I don't think anything can be done. Bibjson has moved into labs which is a sensible place for it, and if a running demo of bibserver is desired I'd suggest putting that under labs too. On 19 Mar 2015 18:30, "Stefano Costa" notifications@github.com wrote:

Hi I've made a pull request for strikethrough links aren't working

rufuspollock commented 9 years ago

@flowsta would you be up for getting a new demo site back up? BibServer as a project is looking for a maintainer:

http://okfnlabs.org/projects/bibserver/

flowsta commented 9 years ago

@rgrp I am very interested in OKFN Labs and I would like to test this project as I use to work with BibTeX. Is there a shared server or you have to do your best by your own?

rufuspollock commented 9 years ago

@flowsta in a perfect world it would be nice to have this deploy on something like heroku's free tier or something like that as it tends to mean running the demo is more sustainable. We do have a labs server where we could deploy. If you have furhter questions on labs sysadmin assistance and resources please open an issue on https://github.com/okfn/okfn.github.com/issues :-)

flowsta commented 9 years ago

@rgrp I prefer our hosting our projects than heroku so I'll ask our labs, thanks!
