Forward-button and backward-button not working in emacs accessed through putty. #87

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Access the emacs in a remote linux pc through Putty.
2. In the nav window, we cannot navigate using Up and Down keys in keyboard
3. I tried UP, Down key , Tab and Shift Tab, Page Up and Page down. Nothing
helped to traverse the nav list up and down.
4. I am not able to open the file using "Enter" or "Space".
5. I can only use "o" to open the file under cursor, but not able to
   move the cursor.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected output is, we should be able to navigate like in normal emacs (GUI
one) using UP/DOWN key in keyboard.
Instead i got the output in mini buffer as
1) "Symbol's function definition is void: forward-button"
2)"Symbol's function definition is void: backward-button"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I am using "emacs-nav-20110122.tar.gz" on linux "2.6.18-164.10.1"

Please provide any additional information below.
