So apparently utteranc.es doesn't save drafts if you leave the page... after writing a way-too-long comment on this episode my finger skimmed the top of the Magic Mouse I'm using, which Chrome interpreted "go back" and now I'm really sad! So here's an abbreviated second attempt -

• While considering what I'm most thankful for during this holiday, at first I was tempted to say my beautiful loving family. WRONG! I have now changed my answer: I am most thankful for getting a shoutout on Runtime Rundown.
• Evan - I am truly thankful that we were able to work together and I'm glad it was valuable to you. I don't know how much of this I told you back then, but I was enduring some "personal challenges" in the Fit Future era. These things were also derailing my career path. Working with you afterwards was a major contributor to getting my own trajectory back on track. Now I can proudly say that I've eliminated those challenges, and have ascended to the highest peak imaginable... IT MIDDLE MANAGEMENT (crowd cheers)
• I'm thankful for the show you two are making. It is really good, and I would think that and be a committed listener even if I didn't know Evan. I sample a lot of podcasts in the same genre and they just don't have "it". I think it's important for people to hear two accomplished pros from W[censored]r and Amazon just chatting about things and yukking it up. Except for Shoptalk, it seems like most shows either presume that every listener eats breathes and sleeps modern development, or that they have to act like they already know everything.

There was more in the original comment but I think that it was the result of me desperately attempting to avoid work; the general ideas are packed into the points above and it's still pretty wordy so maybe losing v1 was a blessing in disguise.

@mattmacneil I somehow missed this one in the shuffle. I'm sorry about that.

Thinking back to those Fit Future days, I can't believe we asked what we asked for the money we offered. It was absurd of us.

Though you were enduring personal challenges, you still went way above and beyond what any developer would have done for us and we ended up with a cool product.

Im glad that in some way you got something out of that as well because that experience changed the trajectory of my life. I've always felt like it was a one way exchange and felt guilty, this helps.

In (not so) short - thank you for this comment and all of your other comments. Maybe someday we can work together again. I pity whatever Starbucks we park in for 8 hours straight like the old days.
