Convince the rails-core team to make the default LogSubscribers NOT auto-subscribe but make it a configurable option (default on) that can be disabled in the rails configuration.

Does the current discussion include a patch for master and rails32 branch? :)

Not yet, I have never messed about with Rails internals like that before. I am hoping someone with more knowledge than me can make a suggestion on how they would like to see it done.
