https://www.autogenius.info/mazda-mx-5-2002-2004-fuse-box-diagram/ fuse 17 A/C is very relevant!
This issue was caused by the "A/C" LED's reverse diode powered from an external +12V from A/C, because the ignition key has two parallel +12V lines which are not exactly parallel, and A/C is powered before the ECU power.
We don't know whether it is a Miata's bug or not, but we need to consider any of LS outputs as a potentially external power source.
And the solution would be to change the connection of reverse protection diodes from parallel to in series with their LEDs - should be in TODO for rev.D.
@andreika-git says there were changes in rev D
@BeerMoneyMotorsports I believe rev D is still affected
@BeerMoneyMotorsports please ship me a rev D if you ever get one
@BeerMoneyMotorsports did you have a chance to test on real NB2?
@BeerMoneyMotorsports how much do you care about this issue?
i do not have nb2 to test on. I tried it on NB1 but could not reproduce. is @stefanst able to reproduce on NB2?
We need NB2 help while you still have it!
@stefanst do you have H72C or H72D?
i tested on NB2, and two more NB1. i cannot reproduce the reported issue.
