SIGUSR1 or SIGUSR2 to trigger pause/unpause of recording #59

It would be nice to be able to pause the recording in-place and resume.

For a low-tech recording where I need to pause the recording it would be a handsome feature to have. ;-)

would you expect the video to just jump or to have a blank section?

I think I would expect it to just jump, skip ahead to when it was unpaused.
