Closes #13. I would review the files changed rather than all 19 commits because there's been a lot of work done over the past month. I tried squashing the commits with a rebase to shrink the history but that choked midway so I'm submitting this pull request unsquashed. I won't be able to attend the Workshop-a-thon today but if anybody there wants to pick this up and take it for a trial run be my guest.

This is wonderful! Thanks! Having a long history is fine, so don't feel the need to squash. I'll merge this in, and we can copy-edit or fix bugs during the workshop.
