build(deps): bump the vm-virtio group with 3 updates #260

Closed dependabot[bot] closed 10 months ago

dependabot[bot] commented 10 months ago

Updates the requirements on vm-memory, criterion and memoffset to permit the latest version. Updates vm-memory to 0.13.0

Changelog

Sourced from vm-memory's changelog.

[v0.13.0]

Added

  • [#247](rust-vmm/vm-memory#247) Add ReadVolatile and WriteVolatile traits which are equivalents of Read/Write with volatile access semantics.

Changed

  • [#247](rust-vmm/vm-memory#247) Deprecate Bytes::{read_from, read_exact_from, write_to, write_all_to}. Instead use ReadVolatile/WriteVolatile, which do not incur the performance penalty of copying to hypervisor memory due to Read/Write being incompatible with volatile semantics (see also #217).

[v0.12.2]

Fixed

  • [#251](rust-vmm/vm-memory#251): Inserted checks that verify that the value returned by VolatileMemory::get_slice is of the correct length.

Deprecated

  • [#244](rust-vmm/vm-memory#241) Deprecate volatile memory's as_ptr() interfaces. The new interfaces to be used instead are: ptr_guard() and ptr_guard_mut().

[v0.12.1]

[v0.11.0]

Changelog

Sourced from criterion's changelog.

[0.5.1] - 2023-05-26

[0.5.0] - 2023-05-23

Changed

  • Replaced lazy_static dependency with once_cell
  • Improved documentation of the html_reports feature
  • Replaced atty dependency with is-terminal
  • MSRV bumped to 1.64
  • Upgraded clap dependency to v4
  • Upgraded tempfile dependency to v3.5.0

Fixed

  • Documentation updates

[0.4.0] - 2022-09-10

Removed

  • The Criterion::can_plot function has been removed.
  • The Criterion::bench_function_over_inputs function has been removed.
  • The Criterion::bench_functions function has been removed.
  • The Criterion::bench function has been removed.

Changed

  • HTML report hidden behind non-default feature flag: 'html_reports'
  • Standalone support (ie without cargo-criterion) feature flag: 'cargo_bench_support'
  • MSRV bumped to 1.57
  • rayon and plotters are optional (and default) dependencies.
  • Status messages ('warming up', 'analyzing', etc) are printed to stderr, benchmark results are printed to stdout.
  • Accept subsecond durations for --warm-up-time, --measurement-time and --profile-time.
  • Replaced serde_cbor with ciborium because the former is no longer maintained.
  • Upgrade clap to v3 and regex to v1.5.

Added

  • A --discard-baseline flag for discarding rather than saving benchmark results.
  • Formal support for benchmarking code compiled to web-assembly.
  • A --quiet flag for printing just a single line per benchmark.
  • A Throughput::BytesDecimal option for measuring throughput in bytes but printing them using decimal units like kilobytes instead of binary units like kibibytes.

Fixed

  • When using bench_with_input, the input parameter will now be passed through black_box before passing it to the benchmark.

vm-memory will fail and should be ignored from automatic updates for that release. We will probably want some more implementations of the new volatile traits for common types: https://github.com/rust-vmm/vm-memory/pull/256.

stefano-garzarella commented 10 months ago

@Ablu a new vm-memory 0.13.1 should be available with https://github.com/rust-vmm/vm-memory/pull/256, so maybe we should ask dependabot to recreate this PR.

Ablu commented 10 months ago

@stefano-garzarella some small manual fixes will be required along with 0.13.1. I can draft a PR.

Looks like these dependencies are updatable in another way, so this is no longer needed.
