Applets fixup and feature implementation #149

This is a simple PR containing the long awaited fixes for the general use of the applets and some additions to the Software Keyboard.

The tests on the latest nightly will fail regardless due to #152. I will take the tests run on the "known to work" nightly as good since it also passes them on my local machine using a very recent nightly.
