Hi Guys!

I might have done something wrong, I dont know... But I have rust in 2 desktop, both with problem. I get a super high usage, normally about 50% cpu been Desktop Window Manager the responsable. But this is just when connected to PC using rust.

I have got the same issue. Are you running a virtualized host via proxmox?

If I look into proxmox VM stats I can see exactly the connection timestamps from the client, increasing the CPU by 20% thats seems to be a lot for only showing the screen.

Not really, just using on windows 10 and 11. Had to unistall from all machines.

Just tried first time today using direct LAN connectio and saw the similar things, not sure if it should be that way. The remote hosts CPU usage is around 20% (might be due busy to encode video and transfer?) even there is no mouse move and activity. I guess this is fair if it needs to stream video from remote to local constantly whether there is activity or not.

If so the protocol might be not efficient. Compare with vmware horizon PCoIP or blast it is much faster and low on cpu usages. Or even RDP they are faster and nearly 0 cpu overhead. Unlucky RDP is proprieatery on windows only :sigh: nothings beats that IMHO.

Just looking something alternative to VNC as VNC is so slugish.
