In section "TLS" ExternalDirContextAuthenticationStrategy is used instead of ExternalTlsDirContextAuthenticationStrategy.
The package name of SpringSecurityAuthenticationSource in the xml fragment in the section "Using the SpringSecurityAuthenticationSource" is wrong - it should be org.springframework.security.ldap.authentication.
