Three Finger Swipe works 80% of the time #117

I've used BTT for years, to do a three finger swipe left and right to switch between tabs in Chrome/Safari/etc. I just heard about and installed Multitouch to combine BTT/Shiftit into one app. However, it seems to only work about 80% of the time. I'm needing to swipe twice from time to time because the first one doesn't register, which just never happened with BTT. I've also had to restart the app a few times to get gestures to be working again. Any tips?

I've used BTT for years, to do a three finger swipe left and right to switch between tabs in Chrome/Safari/etc. I just heard about and installed Multitouch to combine BTT/Shiftit into one app. However, it seems to only work about 80% of the time.

The three finger swipe algorithms are different, and I didn't base Multitouch's off of BTT's. Years of muscle memory would certainly expose such differences, and I'm sure it would take some time to unlearn/relearn some of that muscle memory. Multitouch's swipe is optimized the way that I like it, and I don't have any plans to revisit it unless there's a lot of people that absolutely hate it.

You can try unchecking the box in the settings tab of the prefs window for Avoid private framework. By default, Multitouch has this checked because I've found that more people have issues like this when they are using the private framework, but there are exceptions and that just appears to be a quirk of using the Multitouch framework as a 3rd party. (BTT uses the private framework). If you still have issues, then it could be caused by something like having BTT still running at the same time.

Just confirming back that it's been very smooth. Only had to restart the app once in the past few weeks, which is normal, and my three finger swipes are working probably 98% of the time now. Probably is a muscle memory thing. Thanks for your help and the great app.
