The behavior of the app switcher capability in Multitouch isn't explained anywhere, but here's how it works:
If you have a gesture that can result in touches remaining on the trackpad/mouse, the app switcher remains present until your touches are removed. This is the case for clicks and rest+tap gestures. Once you get used to it, this is superior to having it stay visible until something is selected (in my humble opinion).
If you have a gesture that does not result in touches remaining on the trackpad/mouse, for example a tap, the app switcher will just open and it's on you to close it with a selection, etc. Alternatively, these gestures have the additional option of auto-closing when you remove touches again from the trackpad/mouse.
Hi. I'm loving Multitouch as a replacement for the MagicPrefs app that I used to use. With MultiTouch, I only have the ability to have a gesture trigger an instant switch to the next or previous app. It would be fantastic if instead, when I use the specified gesture (like a middle click), the app switcher icons stay visible on screen until I side-scroll or click to select the next app. In other words: middle-click triggers a Tab key press and a Command key hold. Would you please consider adding that ability in the next release?
