Keyboard shortcut not working on macOS Sonoma #1247

[x] This is a new bug that hasn't been documented in a closed issue or in the Readme.

macOS version: macOS Sonoma 14.0 Beta (23A5328b) Rectangle version: v0.70 (76) Logs if applicable (In Rectangle menu, hold option, "View Logging..."): Not log printed.

Hi, I found that the keyboard shortcut for Rectangle stopped working when I recently updated to macOS Sonoma. I have tried the following, but the issue is still not resolved

Restarting Sonoma
Change the shortcuts to something else and try on different applications
Reinstall and restore default shortcuts
Remove the app from Accessibility, and add it back

The drag-to-snap feature still works, and resizing from the drop-down menu works as well.

Thanks for reporting. The keyboard shortcut registration here is pretty standard and widely used, so I would suspect that this will be fixed in a following macOS beta. If it's still broken in the next beta, let me know and I'll dig into it.

Thanks for your reply! It magically works again with no change on the Rectangle side. I'll reopen this issue if the same problem occurs again.

I upgraded to Sonoma having never used the beta and this is happening to me too. I've tried the same troubleshooting steps as above and the keyboard shortcuts are just not being detected.

I also tried Rectangle Pro to see if that worked and it also isn't picking up keyboard shortcuts. 😭

I could not tell what caused/fixed my issue. It just started to work after a day or so, and I haven't encountered the same issue again.

A lot of times with macOS updates, you'll want to do one more reboot after the update. Let me know if you still have issues.

I think it's a Sonoma bug because later I couldn't even do regular MacOS keyboard shortcuts. I rebooted again, and then it all started working.

Having this issue on macos 14.1 (23B74) / Rectangle Version 0.74 (80).
