Stash causes maximized app to move to left half #304

Open SamGallant opened 1 year ago

SamGallant commented 1 year ago

I have one app maximized and two stashed apps, one on each side of the screen. I allow the stashed applications to open and close regularly, but 1/3 of the time once I open the stashed app on the right it forces the maximized app to move to left half. This never happens on the left stashed application. I'm not using any shortcut keys to cause this. It happens just when I move my mouse away from the stashed app on the right.

Thanks for reporting. Any chance you could make a screen recording that catches this?

Here you go. It's odd this time the window I had stashed on the right stopped responding, but the issue with the main window happened still.

Sorry, looks like the screen recording didn’t come along for the ride.

Here is a link. I have also noticed that if I switch to one virtual desktop and back to the one with my browser the window does the same thing a lot of times. It switches to left half vs maximized like it was before switching.

Thanks for the recording. Would you mind attaching your config? You can export it in the settings tab, and I think you might have to zip it to drag and drop it here.

Here you go. BTW, I disabled any functionality that I'm not using just to try and eliminate things, but it still happens.

Thanks for looking into this.

Hi, After disabling everything except for stashing and snap areas things are working fine now. This program is awesome and I have tried every window manager for the mac. The one thing that is missing that exists on other window managers is the ability to define your own size window. There are a lot of cases the predefined window sizes don't work.

Thanks for the update. I haven't had a chance to really dig into it, but based on that I should be able to figure out exactly what was going on for you.

The one thing that is missing that exists on other window managers is the ability to define your own size window. There are a lot of cases the predefined window sizes don't work.

This is in the Custom Shortcuts tab (which I need to rename to Custom Size & Position). You can use values > 1 for absolute pixel dimensions, or values < 1 (decimal or fraction) for screen relative sizing. Additionally, if you click the plus button on hover, you can create sizes & positions that will be executed upon repeated shortcut presses.
