Thanks for the contribution, what you have added is very insightful, but I don't think it is suitable for here. Since this book is aimed at newcomers who have not yet learned the Nix language, I find this supplementary part a little difficult for them to understand. Instead, I would suggest you try to find the right place to convey these ideas in nix.dev or your own blog posts.

I understand your trepidation and yeah, it would seem anomalous. Currently, I am thinking a language centric treatment might be best.
