from the README.md: "Watches with extremely old firmware (prior to 1.8.x) may not work with the ttwatch software"

used: http://us.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/24742/~/linux-version-of-tomtom-sports-connect to update the firmware.

$ ttwatch --version|grep ^Firm
Firmware Version: 1.8.52
$ ttwatch --get-name
TomTom GPS Watch
