Install OpenVPN Access Server In A Proxmox Container

I must be doing something wrong, because on the last command I got:

user 'openvpn' does not exist.

ryanburnette commented 2 years ago

@tw9mini It sounds like a previous step failed if the openvpn user did not exist. Look at the logs from the previous steps to see if you have any indications of what went wrong.

If I remember correctly I ended up using this - https://github.com/Nyr/openvpn-install - and it worked. Thanks.

Cool. Glad to learn about it.

@tw9mini If the installation succeeded, the account is not named openvpn_as not openvpn

ryanburnette commented 2 years ago

I'm not sure what difference caused some folks to have issues where the resulting user account was named openvpn_as instead of openvpn. I just used the instructions and the account was named openvpn like the last time I performed these steps. If anyone has any insight please feel free to comment.

Disregard. The system account created is actually openvpn_as, but the account for the OpenVPN Access Server is a username of openvpn with the password that is printed once the install is complete. I'll update the post.
