I must be doing something wrong, because on the last command I got:
user 'openvpn' does not exist.
@tw9mini It sounds like a previous step failed if the openvpn
user did not exist. Look at the logs from the previous steps to see if you have any indications of what went wrong.
If I remember correctly I ended up using this - https://github.com/Nyr/openvpn-install - and it worked. Thanks.

@tw9mini If the installation succeeded, the account is not named openvpn_as not openvpn
I'm not sure what difference caused some folks to have issues where the resulting user account was named openvpn_as
instead of openvpn
. I just used the instructions and the account was named openvpn
like the last time I performed these steps. If anyone has any insight please feel free to comment.
Disregard. The system account created is actually openvpn_as
, but the account for the OpenVPN Access Server is a username of openvpn
with the password that is printed once the install is complete. I'll update the post.
