Is this significant warrant affecting the score?
Formula a quick dmg calculation:
DmgDTmod(2)UFmod (1.2)*Lustmod(1.3)
Worst case is: One DT with frenzy, then a set amount of seconds without dt (but with lust), followed by the remaining time of the list.
(x is 4853 dmg - a number I got form checking best dk log at chim and avg'ing his ghoul's melee without dt)
x21,2*30
Best cast: Fully aligned
x21.21.330
This is only looking at the melee damage of the ghoul. Claw / sweeping claw doesnt scale with hero/frenzy, so if you take that into consideration the ghouls claw damage is aprox 1/3rd of melee (essentially (x*dtmod)/2) in all fields)
Add it all up and you get a damage delta of ~24700 dmg A difference of 2.1% (over 75 seconds). A wooping ~330 dps over that duration. But only ~117 dps across a 3 minute fight.
But the question is, can you align it without loosing DT uptime? If you lose only TWO! seconds of DT uptime in total, your entire gain of aligning it for a gigaghoul would be negated.
I think it's smart to just send it just send it. (as long as the pet has uptime on the target)
Sorry if I'm all wrong and missing something here
See the quick and dirty spreadsheet: ghoul dt frenzy lust.xlsx
Your math doesn't quite work. You're multiplying dps amounts which have nothing to do with how lust and frenzy work. DPS is damage per second, its just an ancillary calculation based on how much damage you are doing divided by the amount of time. The top 100 parse UH log is more about their kill time being lightning fast and less about the dmg he did.
Lust and frenzy lead to way way more attacks which skyrockets the dmg you get from a DT. If you take a look at this log: https://classic.warcraftlogs.com/reports/9aJ7gqf4cDkvNYbr#fight=25&type=damage-done&source=25 Noticed how many extra attacks he got from stacking frenzy and lust (and he only has 50% uptime on frenzy). 53 attacks compared to an average of 32. The avg dmg per attack for the first DT was about 7,300 while the second DT avg dmg per attack was 6,900. This tells you that even though he had more procs active, the dmg from those procs wasn't substantial, what was substantial was stacking Lust AND Frenzy. That's what led to a massive increase in DMG for his first DT vs. the rest of them.
If you look at his final DT, you see that he only had 36 to 32 attacks even though he had 80% uptime on Frenzy. What this tells you is that in order to get this massive benefit you need to stack them.
Each fight, there is the possibility to have a GIGACHAD DT with Frenzy and Lust. This results in a lot of damage and is a big factor in overall DPS. Not getting the Gigachad DT should significantly affect one's score.
