This module doesn't work for me at all. I have tried making it first and last and it does nothing. Is this still maintained?

@uudruid74 Just tested it here and it seems to be working here. What emoji are you using? Test with something universal like :smile:. When you view the page on the front-end, you should see the emoji 😄. If it doesn't work, edit your field (Setup > Fields > Body) and double check the "Emoji" Textformatter is selected. Check your module settings (Modules > Configure > Emoji) to make sure you are using the syntax you've configured whether that's :smile: or emoji:smile. If still not working, send a screenshot from you page editor so that I can see the usage context. Also just a reminder that the actual emoji will only appear on the front-end, not in the admin page editor.
