proofread ega1-10; proofread all of ega1! #108

going forward let's do \[, \] instead of \begin{equation*}, \end{equation*}, since they are essentially equivalent in amsmath (see here).

ah ok, I wasn't sure if you could \label the former, but will switch to that from now on :-)
