I feel maybe we could have something like Original title [Trans.] New title
, that way we preserve the original content but add the errata. However, we don't do this for the in-text errata, so maybe we could just list the new names, with a footnote explaining/linking to a page with the original titles.
@thosgood
Hmmm.. Judging for the actual chapter names I fell that it was more than just the title that changed ( "Hyperplane sections; generic projections" became "Meromorphic functions and pseudo-morphisms" and "Infinitesimal extensions." became "Divisors").
Maybe we should include a footnote saying "Original Plan" or something.
my first suggestion would be to simply change the names to those which are actually used, and then put a small paragraph in the "what this is" section at the beginning explaining the situation, since this is where we currently explain how we treat the errata etc.
I agree, let's change to actual names, with a footnote to "what this is"
Does this work? @solov-t @thosgood
seems absolutely perfect to me :-)
Ok awesome, closing, if anyone has any further suggestions let me know
The section names in EGA 4 are named after the original plan in EGA4-1, but since we're adding the erratas, should I update them to the final verson?
