add more detailed intro/purpose statement #20

This should expand on the current "What this is" section.

just made a PR with a first draft for what the introduction could look like. new commands in the preamble to add sections that don't appear in the TOC.

just thought actually: maybe it would be a good idea to put the "What this is" section in an entirely different file, so it doesn't appear on the same page as "Introduction". that way it's much clearer that it isn't part of the original, but just a note from the translators.

If we do do this, then we would need to update the book making script so that it is also generated, and I guess put a copy of it at the top of README.md, for people who've downloaded the repo to build chapters individually. (and also delete the two new commands I just added)

I think yeah, if it's in a separate chapter, but at the moment I think it's just not 100% clear what's from the EGA introduction and what's from us (although, obviously, reading it for like 5 seconds clears up any confusion, but, still...)
