There are different things to clean-up. One is spurious fields, things like bdsk-url should definitively be removed. URL should be checked through check-OA or similar, and if found turned into a PDF link. Keywords should also not be exported (pollutes other users libraries), but data should be retained.
the other is generating new citekeys - which is a more complex issue (should they be used a unique identifier etc). the last is LaTeX - whether to clean this up or leave it .(Unicode -> latex or latex -> unicode etc).
