SHOUTCAST AAC+ PLAYS OK BUT SHOUTCAST AAC NOT #59

On my android application if i put icy://ip:port/ and encoding in aacp  (aac+) 
plays ok. But if the encoder is set to aac the sound goes like chopped metal. 
What is causing this and how can be fixed?
