feature request: safari-like JTabbedPane #102

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. use JTabbedPane

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
a sensibly-small tabbed pane like safari's. optional close buttons.
optional draggability (including between windows).

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
i don't use it, but this is the feature that would make me use it.

Please provide any additional information below.
client properties like the ones apple uses for "search" JTextFields would
be a good way to add any extra API. but even just a tabbed pane that takes
less space would be an important step forward.

(my application is http://software.jessies.org/terminator/ which would
really benefit from Safari-style tabs)

Your app looks neat Jesse! It looks like a native terminal to me.

I think this is a must. Take one look at netbeans, the button style tabs
don't work for documents. As
mentioned on your blog, the upside down tabs have their flaws, because they are
connected to the toolbar they
can only be used on documents that fill the full window. I would be happy with
an implantation that looks
reasonably close to Apple's
