white text on white background in dropdown select

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Add a select input to one of the fields
2. Use the white theme
3. Click the dropdown: white text on white background

What is the expected output? 
Visible text
What do you see instead?
Invisible text (only on mouseover, when the background turns blue, you will see 
the item you are hovering over)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.7 on FF 4 on a mac.

Please provide any additional information below.
I fixed this using a hack putting style="color:black" on the options for the 
dropdown
