Deleting leading faction causes catastrophic errors #758

Describe the bug

I think I killed my town. I removed a Faction member so I could add my own and I guess I removed the wrong one. I cannot delete the faction while editing the faction nor from the List of factions' section on the Detailed Description of the town page. I have since created a new town but want to understand what I did so I don't mess up another town I worked hard to create.

Thanks for letting me know about this. It looks like the issue is that the faction that you deleted was the dominant faction in the settlement, which had a knock-on effect of the engine looking for a ruling faction that no longer existed. I'm going to edit this issue to reflect the bug. For the meantime, to avoid this issue, avoid deleting the faction that leads a town.
