This would be very nice to have.

It would be nice to extend beyond just CTRL-A etc for swipes, and have fully
user
configurable gestures (I.E. be able to specify our own key combos for screen
swipes/taps, as opposed to pick from a list)
Would make common commands quicker & more easy to perform without having to
open the
keyboard/virtual keyboard.
This would be a valuable enhancement to the camera key functionality too.

I would also enjoy customizable gestures. For example, make swipe left/right
move left/
right in irssi. This is not the only example, but it is the one that
immediately comes to mind
for me.
If you are looking for a method to implement the custom gestures drawing, look
at the
implementation in dolphin. Has the option to draw, then associate a command,
then shows
a list with all the drawings and their functionality.

This would be extremely useful. A great example is the Dolphin (HD) browser.
Especially on phones that do not have physical keyboards (more and more out
there) -- Nexus S like phones being the prime example of not having any keys.

I would use this feature routinely if it were available. At the risk of making
the request more complicated than necessary, I would use different
configurations for different systems. On one system, I would have the gestures
bound to switching between windows in a screen session. On another system,
however, I would want to change the bindings to a command which would switch to
another chat room.
For this reason, I would like to be able to pick from a set of saved gesture
definitions, rather than have to manually re-define the gestures every time I
switched to another host. Ideally, the gesture bindings would automatically
switch when I changed hosts, so connectbot would have to save a separate set of
bindings per host. Again, this may be a feature which would add more
complication than value for most people, but I'll leave my comment here just in
case other people want to chime in with a "me, too" or a "no way".
