The automatic CRAN checks fail if the examples in the documentation error out due to timeout/other server issues.

To fix

[x] Wrap all examples in dontrun
- [x] Confirmation from CRAN staff that this acceptable
[x] Ensure skip_if_net_down() is called before all tests
