The option 'set showtabline=2' breaks the autosave window dimension feature

What steps will reproduce the problem?

If the option 'set showtabline=2' is set in the .gimrc file, the autosave 
window dimension feature described here 
(http://groups.google.com/group/vim_mac/browse_thread/thread/c294c83939f907ca) 
does not work anymore. If this option is commented, the autosave window feature 
works again.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The expected behavior is that the autosave window dimension feature should work 
with the option 'set showtabline=2'.

What version of MacVim and OS X are you using (see "MacVim->About MacVim"
and  "Apple Menu->About This Mac" menu items, e.g. "Snapshot 40, 10.5.6
Intel")?

7.3 (60), 10.7 Lion
