Mountain Lion exit full screen missing #466

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
When in full screen of macvim (snapshot 69) on Mountain Lion (10.8.4), there
are no 'exit full screen' buttons next to the notification button (top right)
of the menu bar.

This means to exit full screen, one has to exit MacVim entirely.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Startup MacVim
2) Click the full screen button (top right hand corner of window bar)
=> hover over the top of the full screen till the menu bar appears. There are
no 'exit full screen button' to the right of the menu bar.

Strange. I've never had this problem and can confirm that the icon still shows
up for me on 10.8.4, snapshot 69.

Have you had this problem with any other app on your Mac? Maybe one of your
menu bar apps are interfering?

As a workaround you can hit Cmd+Ctrl+f to toggle full screen, or type ":set
invfu", or use the menu "Window -> Toggle Full Screen".

Thanks Bjorn.

I haven't ran into any other apps with this problem. Though I've only done
limited testing with Evernote, Chrome, XCode, and MacVim so far.

Happy with the workarounds for now :)

I'm also noticing something interesting. When I use the full screen button, it
doesn't actually create a new desktop for MacVim, instead, the MV window
becomes full screen, but overlays everything else on the current desktop - I
suspect this is preventing the full screen button from appearing on my menu bar.

Absolutely no idea why this is though :(

Well, then I know the answer: you have disabled native full screen. Go into
advanced preferences and enable native full screen and everything will be the
way you expect.
