Mavericks full screen issue #494

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Setup: dual displays at different resolutions (Macbook Pro retina (1440x900) 
and an HD TV (1920x1080))

I always use MacVim in Mac OS native full screen mode.  After an undetermined 
amount of time: 1 hour to several hours, the MacVim window will be redrawn as 
in the attached screenshot.  To fix it, I need to toggle full screen mode.  

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expected output is for the MacVim window to be drawn correctly.

What version of MacVim and OS X are you using (see "MacVim->About MacVim"
and  "Apple Menu->About This Mac" menu items, e.g. "Snapshot 40, 10.5.6
Intel")?

MacVim Snapshot 72, Mac OS 10.9.1

Please provide any additional information below.

The screenshot of the window is attached.  It's pretty self explanatory.

I guess I'm a bit dense because I can't clearly tell what the problem in the 
screen shot is.  Can you explain it to me?  Oh, hold on, has the window been 
resized to the size of the other monitor and the surrounding grey area is the 
full size of the screen?

Yes, this is a full screenshot.  The grey area is part of the screen.  it does 
not go away until I take the MacVim window out of full screen mode and put it 
back into full screen mode.

I guess it has been resized to the other screen, but not by the user.  It 
happens on its own without moving the vim window between displays.  Even if the 
user did cause it, should it not resize to the display it's own rather than 
displaying the grey area?

I have a possibly related problem. I can trigger a resize of the (already 
opened and full-screen'ed) MacVim window by opening a second file from a 
Terminal that is on the smaller screen. In fact, any size screen I put the 
Terminal app on, that is the size my MacVim window will get if I open a file. 
That means that when I move the Terminal to the larger screen and then open a 
third file from there, the screen resizes back to the full large screen size.

I use the following command to open a file from the Terminal in the same MacVim 
instance (in a new tab):
open -a MacVim.app FILENAME

I'm also experiencing the original poster's issue. For more information: this 
isn't specific to the *native* full screen mode. I've replicated it with both 
native and non-native full screen modes. I'm running a second monitor over DVI 
@ 1600x1200 on a Macbook Air with native resolution of 1440x900. MacVim is 
running fullscreened on the 1600x1200 monitor. When the issue occurs in 
non-native full screen it appears as a centered 1440x900 window. Screenshot 
attached.

Running MacVim snapshot 72, OS X 10.9.4.

Is there any interest in fixing this bug?    This is a great gvim port, but 
this multiple-screen issue is maddening.
