New tab button "+" in tab bar #531

Hi,

It seems there's an issue with the new tab button "+" symbol in the tab bar
with recent versions when I click it I get the following error:

E16: Invalid range: 999tabnew

FYI I tracked down a similar issue on this CHANGELOG:
http://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/mirrors/opensuse/factory/iso/Changes.20150316.txt
regarding gvim where it says:

* The tabline menu was using ":999tabnew" which is now invalid.

I have also experienced this issue. Using ':tabnew' works normally

I am also seeing the same issue. The File > New Tab works for me, but the +
sign does not work. Is there some simple workaround for this, by adding some
settings?
