We are really getting there :-)
just noticed:
have a top-margin of 1em, that is imho to large, maybe 0.3em as well? not sure if one should put the em to the headlines or the paragraphs. I guess this is only visible if you have a h3 directly after a h1. Not sure what the proper handling is
The thesis is hidden in the drawer, but the poster is out there at the wall for everyone to see. You can find all past thesis art pieces here" should go to the "thesis art" overview page
thesis art images are always below their description now, i'll consider to make a clickable highr res version. @behinger The images were pulled from your website, i don't have better resolutions :/
AboutPage: I would use different pictures for the about section as soon as we have them. I put them in as placeholders for now Members Page: Maybe yes, thats up to you. In any case I'll propably redesign the cards anyways, it's not really something I like visually. Also I'll redo the color scheme of the page, it's not really fitting right now and its hard to incoporate everything, I'll see what I can do. I like the use of all the different colors, but it makes everything a bit more chaotic and its hard to define a master design
A note on the icons for teaching reccources: I think in general its not imposiible, but as the site is generated via scripts, it's hard to do custom content, the icons would need to follow some rule. Something like thesis art would also need icons in that case, since it uses the same script
On the topic of adding pictues, e.g. in lap philosophy. I don't necessarily disagree with adding images, they can give more live, especially in low text areas like landing page. But the main content and function of stuff like teaching ressources and philosophy is information and plain text. I thknk there is an elegant way to incorporate images into those section, as readability will always suffer. The best way to get a more dynamic and interesting look, is to highlight important keywords, to make it easier for the reader to catch the content of the text. (I looked as some other web pages and all their lab philsophy were just plain text)

redesign sounds good, I feel a lot of space is given to design, not so much to the people

is it possible to use images (hard to maintain maybe?) or we could scale up emojis in a cool font?

totally fair - some bolding as you did makes it much more accessible already. But I still think it is also a matter of right font (family/size) choice to make it more accessible. But let's leave it for now :)
