It would be good for comparing to LMC, SMC dust mass measurement if the DESK could calculate the 8um excess by fitting SEDs with non-dusty photospheric models. The 8um difference (excess) is then known to scale well with mass-loss rate, and mass-loss relations have already been developed and refined.
