make "unhandled" errrors that are expected to have improved messaging #222

Is your enhancement request related to a problem? Please describe. Errors like not overwriting the output file if it exists say "Unhandled error" which is a bit poor messaging for the users.

Describe the solution you'd like Omit "Unhandled error" or improve the messaging for these types of exceptions.
