Feature request: disable tethering #1

I would like to be able to stop the iTag going off when it is too far from the phone. I only want to use the iTag to locate items close to my phone NOT when I'm out of range.

Does not the orange button at right bottom do that you want? The itag will be disconnected (it is not possible to avoid it beeps one time) and will not alarm anymore but you still be able to find the tag from your phone anyway.

Also in my practice it is not bad idea to turn off the itag while it is in a known location. This saves the battery as well.

I can't find any setting of the orange button in the bottom left of the screen or the left button at the top right of the screen that will stop tethering.

You're right it would be good to turn off the iTag in known locations but for me it needs to remain on: my young children always lose the TV remote control in the house (i.e. a known location) and I need to make it beep to find it. But having the TV remote control beep when I leave the house is very annoying for everyone else, and I dont want to remove the iTag device from my list every time I go out of the house hence I'd like to disable tethering for this iTag.

edit: It may not be possible to do this. I pulled my iTag apart to look at the elctronics IMG_7276 Using the chip ID it seems it may not be possible to turn it off: issue 105
