Hot water boost on demand? #134

Checklist

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Apologies if this is already a standard feature but I cannot work out how to do it and couldn't find easy contact details to ask you. I currently just have to accept when my heat pump wants to do the hot water run.

Describe the solution you'd like

I'd like to be able to manually flick a switch to tell it to do a hot water run. And following on from this ability, be able to use HA to automate the hot water run (based on time or solar production) etc.

Describe alternatives you've considered

I can't think of a way I do this with the current features, but I may well have just missed this.

I've been trying to set up an automation in Home Assistant to change the DHW required temp to a higher value to trigger a hot water cycle.

However in the Actions> Add action > Device, after I have selected Mastertherm Heatpump, this is where I become unstuck.

In the selectable list of actions I can set values for a plethora of things including heat curves, winter/summer temps etc or I can change modes like the HVAC mode on DHW Control Unfortunately there is no selectable option for "Set value for DHW Required Temperature" which to my mind is what I'm needing.?!?

I think I have eventually figured it out and have created an automation that sets the DHW required temperature to 50, waits an hour and then sets it to 45. I've not included a trigger so that I can then either call it with a button (virtual or physical), set it into a schedule or call it from other automations code

Hi,

Sorry for slow reply busy day, I don't really have anywhere else at the moment was going to start a thread in the forum but don't have the time much to monitor.

You are about right, you can't really control when the heat pump does hot water as a priority vs not but this is what I have mine is in the UI as an automation and I have a button on the dashboard to override it works fine. For the switch is HC2 as I have mine setup with two separate water systems so they are not on the main circuit.

I turn it on at 1.30 am and off at 7pm just using the switch. You can also use it to increase/ decrease requested temperature.

This is my on automation which I trigger twice just in-case it fails the first time for any reason.

I also have an automation to heat the water as high as possible on one night a week for sanity (before the thermostat takes over and heats the rest of the way to 60)
