No way of knowing if Gespeaker is using mbrola #35

I installed mbrola on ubuntu 10.10, the voices show up in preferences mbrola 
but there is no indication if these voices are being used in the speech. These 
voices are not listed in the language or variant drop down lists. 
There is also no improvement in the voice too.

ok you had to restart the application to see the mbrola voices fill the 
dropdown list.
