Spacing of items in output #1

Open frederik042853 opened 3 years ago

frederik042853 commented 3 years ago

Nice update, thanks. Is there a way to reduce the spacing between the individual items in the output.

saabman commented 3 years ago

Good question. Ill have a look into it.

Im presuming you are referring to the vertical spacing?

saabman commented 3 years ago

Ive just set the line height to 27px. in the CSS file. Its quiet a bit more compact now If you want to have a play with it and fine tune it have a look at the css file have a look for this .MMM-WunderGround-PWS-Observations .pop { line-height: 27px; text-align: right; font-size: 75%; }

frederik042853 commented 3 years ago

That made it much better. Thanks. There is still a lot of room to the right. Any chance you could make it into two columns to make it even more compact?

saabman commented 3 years ago

Thanks for the feed back on the module BTW. the space on the right was due to the wind direction Icon I just replaced the wind Icon (which I thought was a bit ambiguous anyway) with the wind direction icon. Hopefully that has helped

frederik042853 commented 3 years ago

Thanks for the update. I have attached a copy of what I get. It would be nice if there were two columns IMG_8388

saabman commented 3 years ago

I see what you mean - both columns justify the same way (in this case to the right). Im trying to work out how to firstly set the justification for each column (set one left and one right). once I work that out I should be able to set the width of the columns as well. Ill let you how I progress

frederik042853 commented 3 years ago

Thanks

frederik042853 commented 3 years ago

any update yet?

saabman commented 3 years ago

Kind of.

I’ve made some progress last night but have not pushed them yet as it still needs some more work. I’ll be able to spend more time on it tonight and hopefully get it sorted.

Just out of interest which region do you have the module loaded in?

Do you have any other modules loaded in the same region?

Ive just pushed some mods that I think will fix your issue. It should push all the data to the right - let me know what you think.

frederik042853 commented 3 years ago

That looks better. One more request if possible is: Could you split up the list into two columns so that the module is shorter but still has all the features show. So in essence there would be 4 columns showing the data.

saabman commented 3 years ago

Thanks. Ill see what I can do :) Ive been working on making an option to display horizontally and that will lend its self to multiple columns. Ive run into some horizontal alignment issues with the icons.

Ill you know when its done

frederik042853 commented 3 years ago

Great. Thanks

Do you have any updates?

saabman commented 3 years ago

Sorry for the Delay, Yes Ive made some progress :) Been having some internet connection issues lately which hasnt helped. Just uploading some changes to the dev branch which you can have a look at. The location of items at the moment is fixed but working on making that configurable in the config file ie, So you can select where in the table the temperature and wind direction sit.

frederik042853 commented 3 years ago

Thanks. Will try it out and let you know

Looks like you are getting closer to solving the alignment. I updated my mirror and this is what I get. Looks like the first line is causing the rest to be out of alignment. image0

frederik042853 commented 3 years ago

FYI, I have two PWS running side by side

saabman commented 3 years ago

The first line is way out. can you post a copy of the config for the module ( minus your API key of course)

Thanks for that. I’ve been trying to see why the top line is so large and I noticed your screen shots have a header which I didn’t have. I also noticed the wind icon is different.
I hadn’t given a header line a thought - though I should add it. So playing around with adding it. I found if you just add a headed it defaults to the full width of the screen region. You can modify the CSS to set it to have a width of day 150px which I found was about right for 2 columns of data. But … If you put two instances of the weather module in a wide region like the top bar the headers appear get drawn first and cause the two instances to offset. Ned to work out how to package the header and the table together before sending it MagicMirtor. The large font first line appears to be related to the size of the first icon which set on the Winderground custom CSS file. I’ll post some more info about how to fix that shortly.

How are you getting it to show up side by side - I only get that if I stick it in the middle region. Which is where I thought you had it till I looked closer at your config which shows it in the top-right. If I do that I can only get it to show up aligned vertically.

Also the first line with the undefined bit and large text doesnt make sense, Have you changed anything in the .js or .css files by any chance? or maybe there is a difference in the json file from wunderground between our stations. Though your image from January 27 looks right.

If I create 2 instances of MMM_WunderGround_PWS_Observations in the top-right region I get this

unfortunatley the images havent shown up.

From what I can gather you have multiple modules in the one region (top_right) One of the modules is quiet wide (this sets the width for the region) the two instances of the PWS module then show up side by side.

If I put the news module in the top_right it expands the module out and then the two PWS modules appear side by side. BUT if the header field is set then they are offset vertically by the height of the header. There is a thread on the forum about putting modules side by side but it requires some changes to my module - Im trying to understand how to do that - programing is a lot of trial and error for me - I just keep bashing the keyboard till something works ;-)

Can I suggest deleting doing a force update of the PWS module and get it back to a known state.

git fetch origin master git reset --hard origin/dev

saabman commented 3 years ago

I think Ive got something that might work :) Screenshot from 2021-06-23 21-11-45 you will need to add to the config for the station you want on the left float: 'left',

and for the one to the right float: 'right',

hope that helps

saabman commented 3 years ago

the two configs should look something like this {

module: 'MMM-WunderGround-PWS-Observations', header: 'Brdfodville PWS House', position: 'top_right', config: {

    float: 'right',
apikey: 'myapikey', // private; don't share!
pws: 'INEWSOUT622', //

sysstat: 0,
debug: 1,
currentweather: 1,
wind: 1,
humidity: 1,
UV: 0,
rain: 1,
rainRate: 1,
pressure: 1,
dewPoint: 1,
windChill: 1,
heatIndex: 1,
temperature: 1,

}

}, {

}, {

module: 'MMM-WunderGround-PWS-Observations', header: 'Bradfordville PWS Shed', position: 'top_right', config: {

float: 'left',

Thanks, I finally was able to get it to work. Nice job! Can I ask what program and system are you using for the electricity graph in the middle of the screen?

saabman commented 3 years ago

Wonderfull - glad it worked for you.

The graph in the middle is the output of one of my solar systems MMM-PVoutput https://forum.magicmirror.builders/topic/1247/mmm-pvoutput https://github.com/mrvanes/MMM-PVoutput
