Thunderbird uses Lightning to authenticate. Lightning will not permit more than one connection to the same server. It's a known issue. Workaround is to put a different entry for each calendar in your hosts file. You don't mention what OS you are using on either your client or server, whether you are using SOGO, whether you have set up port forwarding, adjusted your firewall rules...
thanks for your answer. On my PC I'm using W7. the server is a shared server from OVH running Linux. Phpinfo() says PHP Version 5.5.22. no SOGO. No proxy at home, I'm trying only one connection for one calendar.
no one to share an idea ? too bad...
What webserver are you using?

Hello, I installed Baikal (0.2.7) in my web site, directory baikal-flat. CalDAV on CardDAV off Then I created a user Hubert
running OK. I went to thunderbird 38.3.0 ; Lightning 4.0.3 new calendar, calDAV format, url : http://www.galinou.fr/baikal-flat/cal.php/calendars/Hubert/default/
A new little window for Name and Password appears. I type Name and password, window comes back again... no way to connect. I retyped password for the user in the server just in case, same problem.
What's wrong with that ? Thanks for an advice.
