Trim paste doesnt work (Paste, Trim White Space) #356

Hello

When pasting text with ditto cliboard menager with option shown bellow text is not trimed as it is in excell when trim option is used.

Hello

Any comment. The problem with triming of white spaces is not fixed.

If you assign a mouse click to that, it works. For example, ALT + Middle click works fine.

However, if you assign any key combination or even a single letter key, it doesn't do anything.

I tryed thaht option without succes. Version listed bellow. I tryed to trim text listed in nova 4.txt. Give me some solutions. Thank you.

I figured it out.

For that particular option (Paste, Trim White Space), both the mouse and keyboard combination only works when you use them in Ditto itself. You bring up Ditto's saved clips, then you do your mouse or keyboard shortcuts there. This is very confusing because I thought it would just work on ANY app. Normally, you'd want to just be in the app of interest (e.g. Word) and paste in there directly, using keyboard shortcut.

In the other menu settings of Ditto, you can configure keyboard shortcuts and those work fine outside of Ditto itself. I think there needs to be better distinction between how the keyboard/mouse shortcut works for some settings.

I dont understand. why doesn not Paste, Trim White Space work when you copy text and then paste it in another app. Whaths the meaning when you use them in Ditto itself?

No idea. I'm asking the same question as you. The dev needs to look at this.
