sabrogden / Ditto

Ditto is an extension to the Windows Clipboard. You copy something to the Clipboard and Ditto takes what you copied and stores it in a database to retrieve at a later time.

Feature Request: Use Ditto to "paste only" (i.e.: don't add new items from clipboard) #604

I was looking for some specific software, and Ditto was recommended. However it's not quite what I was looking for:

I'd like to suggest an option that will prevent Ditto from adding new texts from the clipboard (after having set up the initial set).

I made an experiment: When removing the "" from "inclusive" (to avoid copying anything), the "" just re-appears. However when I enter "DOES_NOT_EXIST", then it seems to ignore every application that isn't named "DOES_NOT_EXIST". So in some way the requested feature already exists ;-)

  • I was looking for a tool that would allow easy selection of pre-recorded texts to be pasted into an application (like web browsers' input). However when I run Ditto, all the copies made populate the stored texts.

I'd like to suggest an option that will prevent Ditto from adding new texts from the clipboard (after having set up the initial set).

the feature already exists. You can disconnect Ditto from clipboard and the setting would even survive a reboot. image
