LGTM, I recommend we merge this as it documents the scope of the issue quite well and many users will likely migrate to 2021.9 and experience issues.

@safepay - would it be possible to create a new release for this so it appears in HACS? Additionally include the comment "Update to support HA 2019.9.x (note breaking change documented in read me) :)
