Portable version support #76

What would you like to add or change?: I'd love to see this software offer a portable version (for my case on Windows).

Why do you and others need this?: Having a portable version means that a user could easily make use of this program on any device, just by storing it on a USB or another portable device. Also, the ability to not "pollute" the C: drive with files would give us more control over our own files structure.

Note: I've seen you have support for a winget install, which is nice, but still targets C:. Making the software fully portable would alllow Windows users to dowanload it through Scoop and Chocolatey, giving powerusers more download options for it.

Hey @Lovecrafts-Cat, thanks for the idea - I like it!

Installing Portmaster in a custom location is something that we've already had requests for and will add in the future.

However, I am not sure how a portable version would work, but theoretically should be possible. It will need some extra work though.

I'll add this to the backlog, so we can take a look the when we go about improving the Windows installer.

A portable version is not planned for the near future. I am closing this for better focus in current topics.
